Lafayette Neighborhoods' Economic Development Corporation (LNEDC)

LNEDC is a non-profit community based organization established in 1982 to help improve the economic well-being of Lafayette Parish.

With combined financial support of the Lafayette City Parish Consolidated Government, Department of Community Development, and  Block Grant Program of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, a Loan Fund has been established. It offers financial assistance to new and expanding businesses in the parish of Lafayette.

This assistance is provided to increase job opportunities and skills for area residents, advance physical development of the neighborhoods, and increase total community income. This also increases the local tax base, improves local government's capability to deliver vital services and provide for greater leverage of private capital investment.  Projects funded through LNEDC must give first consideration to low and moderate income persons for filling jobs created.

ECONOMIC Development for Lafayette Parish

What We Do

We are a community based small business lending organization.

Lafayette Consolidated Government and HUD funds are available to qualifying small businesses located in within Lafayette Parish.

• 1 job must be created for every $15,000 borrowed
• Hiring priority must be given to qualified low to moderate individuals
• Borrower must show the ability to repay the loan on a timely basis
• Borrower must not be delinquent to any taxing authority or agency thereof
