Lafayette Neighborhoods' Economic Development Corporation (LNEDC)
is a non-profit community based organization established in 1982 to help improve the economic well-being of Lafayette.
With combined financial support of the Lafayette City Parish Consolidated Government Department of Community Development and the Community Development Block Grant Program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, a Revolving Investment and Loan Fund has been established. It offers financial assistance to new and expanding small business in the Parish of Lafayette.
This assistance is provided to increase job opportunities and skills for area residents, advance the physical development of the neighborhoods, and increase total community income. This also increases the local tax base, improves local government's capacity to deliver vital services and provides for greater leverage of private capital investment in the target neighborhoods. Projects funded through LNEDC must give first consideration to low and moderate income persons for filling jobs created.
